The design expresses the beautiful colorful effects of the scales of the dragon.

Urban Rivers and Green Corridors
The ventilation shafts have been shortened and plants are grown vertically along the external wall. Bright glass boxes are utilized to design the entrance and exits so that they would appear as metaphorical light boxes of the city and provide excellent and easily distinguishable landmarks.
Dapinglin is one of the few plains of the hilly Xindian region. Its levelness accommodated by a thick forest gave rise to its name. The region includes 5 districts, namely Zhang, Shierzhang, Shisizhang, Ershizhang, and Baodoucuo. With the exception of Shisizhang which still focus on agriculture, retaining the traditional form and appearance of farming villages, other regions began to urbanize rapidly after the Taiwan Railways Administration discontinuedthe Xindian Line and converted it into public freeways. Dapinglin Metro Station of the Xindian Line is now operational. Many gourmet food vendors and bistros have moved in amongst the residential apartments as a result.
Earth's Green Mantle
Plants are grown vertically along the external walls of this metro station and would combine with the greenery on the roof and green slopes to form a contiguous mantle covering the entire station that links up with the landscaping surrounding this station.
Shisizhang region is historically an agricultural reserve in Xindian, and this once rustic village shall be transformed with the establishment of the Circular Line. The traditional houses and temples in this district shall be a vessel for the community's collective memory, and will be respectfully relocated and preserved. It is also hoped that the changes introduced by the metro would help bring back the prosperous atmosphere that had once been provided by the Xindian River Canal.
Introducing the Xiulang Bridge Metro
Taking in the mountain vistas and going along with nature.
The Zhonghe Jianshanjiao was located at the Xindian River bank. The location was once a crossing point for ferries traveling to and forth from Jingmei. Every sunset would form shimmering reflections on the rippling river to create a prosperous scene of people traveling across the river on ferries.
Later on, however, the ferry crossing was closed due to its military importance. The army constructed a military bridge across the river which became known as Xiulang Bridge today.
Although we can no longer experience the sights or experience crossing the river on ferries during the evenings, military jurisdiction over this region did prevent high rise buildings from being constructed and helped preserve the greenery of Jianshan. Reorganization of the neighboring riverside parks and Jingmei Human Rights Cultural Park made the region a good destination for nature walks in the city. We encourage you to visit Xiulang Bridge during sunset to witness its unchanging beauty.
The theme is based on the infiltration of sounds made by vehicles and pedestrians into the station.
As the main transport route branches out to different communities, various facilities begin to develop and form. Nanshijiao night market is located on the southwestern end with its numerous stalls and bright lights. Going to the night market is not like going to a department store sales festival where you must do your research and know what you are going to get. Instead, a night market visit is an impromptu participation. The mixing of the old and new in this flow of visitors seems to reflect what we are currently experiencing and what we would expect in the future.
Jing'an station is located at a major intersection and acts as an important transport hub. The station design highlights its function as a node between Taipei Zhonghe and Banqiao regions, creating an urban landmark based on the theme of optical communication.
People travel past this busy intersection on a daily basis, heading off in different directions towards their objectives. Their paths are drawn out like traffic photographs taken with slow shutter speeds. Many foreign expatriates also call this place home. Many eateries and shops selling foreign goods are available here. One may also find small Erawan Shrines where visitors can stop by to pray for good luck, and discover another unknown facet of Jing'an station.
Give and Take
The design theme is based on the vitality of the local region and incorporated the surrounding contours within the cellular modules that compose the structure of the metro station.
Many pioneers from the same hometown settled in Zhonghe and Xindian River for the abundance and convenience provided by the productive forests and river channels. Since the settlers shared a common religion, Guangji Temple and Fuhe Temple became the region's economic center. Although there were conflicts, all parties have decided to bury the hatchet. Despite these efforts, the region's prosperity has gradually faded away with time. In this day and age, one can find supermarkets and malls right next to traditional markets, giving residents a plethora of choices to shop from. The vestiges of the region's pioneering past also preserved a good deal of comfort and ease for the residents. Potential opportunities lie in wait in both the new and the old once the Taipei Metro Circular Line becomes operational.
The design theme is based upon the transformation of the industrial zone to pave the way for urban development.
Although both Banxin and Bannan Roads were converted from railway tracks, people still have to travel between their home and work like migratory birds in their seasonal voyages. Region-based development meant that the periphery contains factory buildings or office towers of different sizes. When development for the Taipei Metro Circular Line is underway, the seed for change has quietly germinated and is ready to grow.
The theme is based on the shimmering lights of a river's surface and aims to store the reflected light within the interior spaces.
Many civilizations began along river banks. The unending ebbs and flows have given birth and nurtured numerous cities. Xindian River was once an important transportation channel for settlements in the Zhonghe region. The river has provided the lifeblood that irrigated farmlands and water for the residents, making it a critical part of everybody's life. With intensive urbanization, rapidly increasing population density, and buildup of silt, floods became more and more of a problem to the low lying flatlands. People thus began to construct levees to keep out the water and river which they had once depended on for their livelihood. As people became more and more aware about environmental issues, Xindian River was restored to its natural appearance.
Now, we can finally go beyond the isolating walls and take an enjoyable walk along this once forgotten river in a small quiet corner of this city to give our soul a small and satisfying boost.
Introducing Banxin Station
The theme is based upon a city transforming into a new phase.
More than a decade ago, Banxin Road was but a stretch of rail called Zhonghe Line of Taiwan Railways Administration. This railway line was originally used for transporting coal and was later converted to transport cargo freight. Passenger service was not provided. About 4 train cars would go back and forth between the line on a daily basis. Trains would roar across the extremely long intersection in front of Zhenglong Paper Mill amidst the call of mighty sirens, creating a lasting impression in our childhood memories. In 1990, the line was terminated and the empty plots were transformed into parking lots and residential apartments. Time went by and more and more people settled in this region, filling this district with an urban atmosphere that is distinctively unique compared to the rest of the Xindian-Banqiao Special District.
The metro station in Banqiao acts as an important transporation hub. The structure of the metro station is combined with LED lighting, as the silvery-white LED curtain walls represent an efficient transport Network Hub. Power is provided in a sustainable manner via solar panels installed on the roof.
Like many stations, Banqiao has once been built from wood, from bricks, and relocated throughout history. The current station is now an integrated hub that combines the metro line, railway, high speed rail, long distance buses, and local shuttles. Numerous passengers would be able to traverse across convenient hanging corridors and purchase food and other items from the shops located on the basement to the second floor. The area around the station exit has also benefited from the cluster effect and has transformed into a commercial district focusing on recreational and entertainment functions. Visitors shall be pampered with numerous choices of newly established department stores as well as famous night markets.
Xinpu Minsheng Station
The station is located close to Dahan River. Design features combined artworks made from green glass to create leaves that complement the station's structure to represent Natural Vigor.
The northern side of Xinpu Minsheng station is next to the river. This extensive region was once productive farmlands and played an important agricultural role in the Taipei region during the near modern era. In order to accommodate the rapid expansion of the Banqiao region, the land surrounding the levees has been adjusted. Urban renewal plans for the future include integrating aquatic, ecological, biodiversity, and aesthetic features unique to this region. Due to limits on road surface width and the proximity of railway, high speed rail and Bannan Metro Line tunnels, the metro line for this railway would be above ground. Transferring passengers will have to leave the station.
The architectural design and contours are based on that of a wooden ship to emphasize the convenience brought about the Dahan River channel and represent the indomitable spirit of the pioneers who cleared the lands along the Dahan River bank.
Centuries ago, the main transport channels between Taipei Basin and the rest of Taiwan was the canal system composed of the Tamsui River and its tributaries. Immigrants arriving at Xinzhuang heading north called the first plains they encountered as Touchongpu, which was latter renamed as Touqian. This was a farming settlement until the government rezoned the area as an industrial district when people started moving out. Large numbers of people moved into this region during the Economic Miracle, but this growth was also accompanied by a huge number of unauthorized buildings as well as resettlement issues for tearing down houses built along the nearby flood drainage channel. Urban development plans were drawn up once more. The current Touqianzhuang Station has gradually developed into a shopping district with many department stores and franchises establishing themselves in this area.
The public Xinzhuang New Urban Center project is situated close to this metro station.
Design features focus on gentle lighting changes within the interior spaces in order to express a feeling of Bliss.
The color of Purple has been utilized as a definitive representation of the wonderful future we have before us.
Xingfu Bridge of Xinzhuang is connected to Xingfu Road, which would itself be connected to Xingfu metro station that shall be built in the future. The entire district would be known as the Xingfu Road Commercial District. The road is currently flanked by five-story shop houses and office buildings constructed earlier on and has the advantages of being accessible and being close to shops and living necessities. As a result, Xingfu road has always been a populous residential center in Xinzhuang District. Recently, small eateries have been established in the region in order to set itself apart from the large department stores located to the west of this region. Many students and white-collar workers would stop by to grab a bite or two in the evenings. Zhonggang Main Drainage Channel below Xingfu Bridge has also freed itself from its notorious nickname of the Black Dragon River and became a clean and friendly recreational aquatic park that also serves as an anti-flooding facility. The winding pathways and unique landscaping provides a novel residential experience wholly different from the new commercial districts of other regions.
New Taipei Industrial Park Station
This station is linked to the Airport Metro Line, and hence the concept of aircraft Taking Flight is used to develop a creative and lively station design. The solar panels installed on the wings will also help provide sustainable energy.
With the dynamic growth of the manufacturing sector, numerous industrial zones have been established in the regions around Xinzhuang. New Taipei Industrial Park (once Wugu Industrial Park) has provided innumerable job opportunities and many people would call this place home. However, development had been haphazard without an overall urban development plan for a while, resulting in a vicious cycle of poor living quality as well as inefficient public transport infrastructure. The completion of Erchong Flood Drainage Channel helped free the neighboring regions from the risk of floods, allowing the New Taipei City Government to adjust its urban development plans to rezone industrial and flood control areas and create a new Xinzhuang Urban Center
The region is now still zoned for low intensity development, but it is set to become the intersection of the Taoyuan Airport Metro Line as well as the western section of the Taipei Metro Circular Line. The hum of construction work and completion of the central Office Tower provide great expectations for future development.
