Emmanuelle Moureaux is born in France and currently works in Tokyo as a designer and architect. She majored in architectural design during college, obtained an architect's license after moving to Japan and started her own Emmanuelle Moureaux Architecture + Design architectural firm in 2003.
The spiritual inspiration of her core artistic creativity of color dissection comes from the traditional Japanese sliding doors that separate planar spaces or objects into independent units. She then uses color to cut away spatial elements and create layers in order to generate a varied yet balanced visual and structural sensation and not the typical decorative peripherals seen in other designs. Her work successfully incorporated the essence of ancient methods into modern and practical design features.
Color is Emmanuelle Moureaux's most important element in design. She also introduced a feminine attention to detail and warmth so that the entire space becomes an abode of gentle and delightful memories.
